About Lunon

Lunon is an AI-native consulting firm. Clients come to us with a decision to make — an acquisition to diligence, a market to size, an operation to transform — and get a worked, evidenced answer in days rather than months. Technology accelerates the work; people own the answer.

We are a small team based in Pittsburgh working with private equity firms, their portfolio companies, mid-market operators, and other consulting firms. Evidence over opinion, judgment that stays human, and speed as a discipline are how we work.

About the role

You will be Lunon’s first design hire, and you will ship code. Everything a client touches is yours to shape: the portal where they follow an engagement, the living report they act on, the decks and models we hand over, and lunon.ai itself. You set the standard for how rigorous work should look and feel, then build it.

You will work directly with the founders in New York and with the engineers who build the platform. This is a founding seat with the ownership, equity, and expectations that come with it.

Responsibilities

Own the design system across the client portal, the deliverables, and the marketing site, and implement it in production React and Tailwind
Design and build the surfaces clients use to read, question, and act on our work
Turn dense analysis into layouts, charts, and documents a partner or an operator can read in minutes
Prototype quickly, test with real clients, and cut what does not earn its place
Set the visual and interaction bar for the whole team, and hold the product to it
Hire and shape the design function as Lunon grows

You may be a fit if

You have shipped production interfaces as both the designer and the engineer, and you are fluent in React, TypeScript, and CSS
You have strong taste in typography, layout, and data presentation, and can explain the reasoning behind it
You have high agency: you find the most important problem, decide, and ship without waiting to be asked
You are comfortable with ambiguity and with being the only designer in the room
You can be in New York and work in person with the team most of the week

Strong candidates may also

Have designed for finance, consulting, or other document-heavy professional work
Have built charting, editorial, or document-rendering systems
Have been an early hire at a startup and shaped a product from zero
Have a public body of work that shows craft and range

Location

This role is based in New York City and is hybrid. Expect to be in person with the team most of the week, with occasional travel to Pittsburgh and to client sites.
