Lunon raises a pre-seed round led by General Catalyst

Lunon has closed a pre-seed round led by General Catalyst, with participation from SV Angel, Genius Ventures, and angel investors Shuo Wang, Cory Levy, and Menelaos Mazarakis. Joshua Browder was the company’s first backer.

Lunon was founded by Dhruv Shajikumar, Ryan Hyatt, and Connor Hyatt to build an AI-native consulting firm: one that delivers research, analysis, and client-ready work in days rather than weeks, with a Lunon expert accountable for every finding.

Why now

The billable-hour model that has defined consulting for decades is going through its first structural change. The questions clients bring have not gotten easier. What has changed is how much of the research, synthesis, and drafting a well-built AI system can carry when it is pointed at a real question with the right controls around it. A firm designed around that from the start can put senior judgment where an engagement needs it and let the system do the rest.

That is the firm we are building. Lunon takes on commercial diligence, market assessment, and strategy work for private equity firms, advisory teams, and corporate strategy groups, and delivers it on timelines the traditional model cannot match.

Forward-deployed engineering

A large part of Lunon’s work is forward-deployed engineering. Our engineers embed inside companies that need to adjust to AI now, not in a future planning cycle. They sit with the operators, learn how the work actually happens, and build the systems that change it: research and analysis tools, workflow automation, and AI applications wired into the way the business runs. An engagement ends with working software in production and a team that knows how to run it.

This is where we see the most urgent demand. Most companies do not need another deck about AI. They need someone who can walk in, understand the operation, and ship.

What the round is for

The funding goes to growing the team of consultants and engineers, to the research and delivery systems behind every engagement, and to the security controls our clients require, including strict client-by-client data isolation.
